Affiliations, Recognition and Professional Standards

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance, integrity and professional practice. Our activities are guided by the relevant governing bodies and supported through our affiliations with recognised federations and industry organisations. These relationships help ensure that we operate in line with current regulations, best practice and established standards, while also providing access to specialist guidance, training and development opportunities. Where applicable, we comply with the rules, policies and codes of conduct set by our governing bodies, and we value the accountability and quality assurance that federation membership brings.

Our Martial Arts Instructors

Our international group of martial arts masters and instructors provides the foundation for our martial arts curriculum. Each instructor brings extensive experience, technical knowledge and a commitment to preserving the values of our discipline. Through a direct lineage to the pioneers of our art, they ensure that our teaching remains authentic, structured and respectful of its traditions.

Supporting Members, Strengthening Local Communities

We are a not-for-profit association offering valuable insurance options, annual seminars and events for our members. Our activities provide practical support, encourage learning and create opportunities to connect. Any surplus income is reinvested in local charities, helping worthwhile organisations continue their vital community work.

British Martial Arts and Boxing Association

The British Martial Arts and Boxing Association supports instructors, clubs and students across the UK with practical federation services designed to help martial arts and boxing communities develop with confidence. As a leading UK martial arts federation, we provide guidance for instructor and club development, helping members establish professional standards, improve their delivery and build sustainable clubs. Our services include access to appropriate insurance, support with key legal and administrative responsibilities, and advice on areas such as safeguarding, risk management, health and safety, policies and good practice. Whether you are an established instructor, opening a new club or looking for trusted support for your members, the Association offers a clear, professional foundation for training and development.

Children’s University

Children’s University is an educational initiative that encourages children and young people to enjoy learning beyond the classroom. It recognises activities such as reading, sports, arts, volunteering, museum visits and after-school clubs, helping participants build confidence, discover new interests and develop valuable skills. Through a Passport to Learning or similar record, children can collect credits for the time they spend taking part in approved activities. These achievements are often celebrated at graduation-style ceremonies, where learners receive certificates for their commitment. Children’s University works with schools, families, universities, community groups and local organisations to make enriching opportunities more accessible. By celebrating learning in all its forms, it supports young people to become curious, capable and confident about their future.
